It’s hard to ignore the fact that winter is very much on its way now.
Today isn’t simply the 10th of October 2013… As I discovered earlier on Facebook; today is also World Mental Health Day 2013!
I’d like to start by thanking you all for reading and for following this blog over the past year and a bit. I greatly appreciate that you are all still there in spite of my infrequent postings and updates. In the time since I’ve started writing, sure, I’ve been able to attempt to share some of my lows, my downward spirals and ways of negative thinking… But on the whole, I’ve made a lot of progress and I’m still moving forwards. That may not solely rely on the efforts of writing on these pages but I’ve almost always been able to share what’s been going on.
To close this post, I’d like to just say to you all that, regardless of your age, your origin or how you may think and feel inside yourself; you don’t have to suffer alone or in silence. You will always have a choice. I’m not asking you to necessarily reach out to me personally but please do try to reach out to someone. Whether friend or family or not. You can find someone to share with.
Thank you all. Happy Friday for tomorrow and well wishes for the weekend!

I was directed to this site by a fellow blogger and friend, who believes it paints a pretty good portrait of me, even though we’ve never met in person. I can certainly relate to the majority of the points listed and I thought it might provide interesting reading to my followers.
I promised Bex I would reblog and share this two-days in advance so I apologise for the delay.
“On V-Day’s 15th Anniversary, 2.14.13, we are inviting ONE BILLION women and those who love them to WALK OUT, DANCE, RISE UP, and DEMAND an end to this violence. ONE BILLION RISING will move the earth, activating women and men across every country. V-Day wants the world to see our collective strength, our numbers, our solidarity across borders”.
Help put an end to rape and violence by joining One Billion Rising. Take a stand against these vile crimes today.
Take a look at the link below. This cause is a great way to raise awareness of the violence and abuse women face daily across the world.
I wonder how many women and men will ‘Stand’ up on 14th Feb and be counted???????
Another song for you today. 🙂
This isn’t one I’ve actually heard on the radio for some time. We’re talking months, if not close to one year already. I’ve only just listened to it for the first time since as I found this video on YouTube.
Flashback a year ago and it was a song that was feature regularly on Planet Rock. To be more specific, I’d hear almost every time I made the one-hour drive up to Gloucester and then back again, back when I was seeing ‘Jan’.
(I hope you enjoy this live recording. You’re missing much from the studio version, unless you’re obsessed with Joe Satriani, perhaps.)
You’ll find the complete lyrics for this song further down but, as I entered the ‘friendship/relationship’ with a head full of doubt, there were two lines I’d hear that always stuck in my mind. Especially during the long and emotional drive home. The fact that we briefly became ‘an item’ (for all of six-days before falling out) didn’t affect this.
If you think there’s someone better
Into the arms of something new
I’m not wishing to compare anyone to the devil but, as I said; I always had my doubts. I never even viewed it as a long-term relationship (which is what I desired), if I’m honest.
I don’t relate this song to recent events; it’s more that these developments I haven’t spoken of publicly have caused me to reflect on the situation I was in almost a year ago.
But it don’t mean nothin’ ‘less it’s got something for me and you
…Maybe I can relate to that one right now. It’s just ‘funny’ how one song can speak to you at the right time. I’m struggling hard to think or any lines or lyrics that have called out to me within the last eight-months though (except possibly ‘Adrenaline’, ‘Unity’ and ‘Second Chance’… All song titles).
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 4,300 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 7 years to get that many views.
Our latest collaboration and a bit of an angry one!

Is it fate
Or beginner’s luck
The respawning life
Of the face you struck
The devil looks up
Surprised by you
He has taken notice
Of the things you do
With words that burn
She’s suffered enough
I welcome your turn
With total disrespect
Your heart beats black
All the anger you breathe
Steals the beauty of her soul
You’ve seen every line
And the scars she creates
Violence on canvas
Manifesting your fate
This is a first for me; blogging from the new-found comfort of my smart phone!
My hand is forced after my laptop decided to unrespond to everything last night; almost as if it’s in its own depressive state and just wants to be left alone.
As convenient as this new phone is, it’s not as easy to write so, you may have to accept an absence until I can fix it or get it fixed. I’m also missing your blogs and know I’m also behind in my reading.
Take care, all. I wish each of you a good weekend but I hope to be back onlinbefore Christmas! 🙂

I know when you cry
Because clouds appear
Rain falls from the sky
And the worst is what I fear
The storms gather fast
Trapping us both in its path
How long will it last
This self imposed wrath
Tears, hard and fast
These clouds will not part
If it’s shelter you seek
Take this parasol, from my heart
I wish you could see
Through the sheets of tears
That I am standing here
Ready to help you with your fears
It is not your fault
For what you receive
There’s a choice you must make
Together, we can leave
But to stay where you are
Is it all that you seek?
You will not get too far
Before he leaves you as weak
I vow to you now as I did before
My hand is here, and my…

Please keep Brandon and his friend in your thoughts!
Can it really be true?
I see what he does to you
Yet you see things different
Though it’s happening to you
A gift to look forwards
To see what can happen
But insight comes from times
I think I could have saved you
Who knows…maybe next time I can
Signals, alarms…red warnings of danger
Like a runaway train, can’t you see
This man is no savior, he is hurting you
To act as he did, through no fault of your own
Don’t you see you’d be safer alone
You have my unwavering support
Through these impossible times
Unconditional love and concern for what’s right
Although it is hard to see you like this
When you deserve more than you allow for yourself
Should you return, since it is your…
