Writing

This is going to be a bit of an update on my writing course, as I haven’t had much of a chance to do one before.

Next Thursday is going to be our final session together as a group and, it’s fair to say that I’m going to miss this very much once it’s over. This course was supposed to have ended by now but, as we had to cancel one week, we’re fortunately able stay on a little bit longer and to make up for that lost time.

‘Officially’ though, our final session was on Thursday, which was also the day where we were each required to bring in and share our completed short stories.

Second Star

Blog of the Year Award banner 600

Not long after I received my first star in the Blog of the Year 2012 nominations, star No.2 came along, in the form of a ‘re-nomination‘ (I think I just made that up) from MADD Suspicions.

Of course, I accept this (thank you, MADD) and I hope to gain another four in the future.

I assume I’m also required to nominate several bloggers who I haven’t already presented this award to. I won’t re-post the rules or anything as you can find them in my first post (first link in this post, also). It has reminded me that I still haven’t ‘Liked‘ their Facebook page, even though I’m now active on there myself. Before we get down to that, I’d like to share my favourite Bad Company song with you, which is what first came to my mind when I read MADD’s post:

So, my new nominations after receiving my second star:

From Borderline to Better

Thank you all for reading and following. 🙂

Facebook

This is just a quick one to say that I’m on Facebook, in case you haven’t already seen the link I added down the right-hand column of this blog.

There’s a page support this blog which you can ‘Like’ here.

And, if you want to add ‘me’ as a friend then, you can find me here (please note that it is not my real account and so, I don’t use it too often).

It’s just another way of staying connected with people and hopefully finding and interacting with even more. 🙂

For some reason, it accepts ‘Borred’ as my surname but not ‘Bored’, in case you were wondering.

Have a great weekend, all! 🙂

The Brilliant Blog Award

It was only two-weeks ago that I got around to writing my acceptance post for my previous blog award and, since then, I’ve been nominated for my third award, thanks to the Gee we all know and love as Wee! 😀 (…Not that kind of wee!!)

Facebook?

I’ve noticed that several other bloggers (quite a few, in fact) have Facebook pages relating to their blogs and I’m wondering whether I should consider one for my own blog.

As I understand it, you create the page under your Facebook account but, it does not have to connect with your profile page. The two can remain separate so that your identity is protected.

Okay, so, I kind of ‘know’ this because I’ve done it with another blog… But, someone there once told me that his blog once ‘accidentally’ planted a new post update on to his profile page! Chances are, the average person wouldn’t notice but, as you can imagine; I’d like to keep this private from the majority of my Facebook friends.

I see it as another way of sharing and perhaps interacting with other blog pages on Facebook. Kind of like Twitter; a tool for promoting a blog. Is there anything I’m missing?

What are your thoughts on utilising Facebook and, if you do this already, have you had any awkward experiences?

Day 7 – Someone Who Has Made Your Life Worth Living For

Today’s topic suggests that there have been times where I’ve doubted the significance to my continued existence and, like so many people, these thoughts have plagued my mind on many occasions. I can even recall thinking about it at the age of five, sat cross-legged on the floor in a school assembly. I’ve had the thoughts and I’ve even considered my methods and approach to the day but, I’ve never had the serious intent to follow it through (maybe I should carefully consider this for another post?).

Maybe there’s an element of fear that’s held me back in the past; all the unanswered questions and the risk that it may not go as according to plan. I can’t think of any one thing (or person) that has ‘kept me alive’ in the past but, I can certainly think of one person in my life today who has given me new reason to live.

One Lovely Blog Award!

I’m aware of these awards and nominations from where I’ve blogged before and I was delighted to receive my first nomination earlier today, from anxious elephant, following her own thoroughly-deserved nomination yesterday.
